Obituary of Victor M. Rivera

Victor M. Rivera, of Flushing NY, surrounded by his loving family passed away peacefully at home on August 25th, 2016. He is survived by his dear wife Delia Gonzalez; his children Magdaleine, Christina (Erwin) and Oscar (Jennifer); his dear grandchildren Christian and Sophia. He is the loving son of Hilda and the late Luis Oscar Rivera. He will be deeply missed by his brothers Luis Oscar Rivera and his wife Carmen, Albert Rivera and his wife Nilsa and Robert Nieves and his wife Marilyn. He is also survived by many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Victor had retired from M.A.B.S.T.O.A. as a mechanic. He had a love of many things including cars, motorcycles, oldies and Salsa music. He was as interested in help others as anyone could be, even offering help right up to his passing moments. He will be remembered for his kindness, selflessness, and his wonderful sense of humor. Those hat knew him best will remember one of his favorite expressions, "It is what it is." Visitation will be Sunday and Monday 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass at Queen of Peace R.C. Church on Main Street in Kew Gardens NY Tuesday at 10am. He will be buried in Calvary Cemetery following the Mass.
