Brian Rowe Percival, son of the late Raymond J. and Mildred (Rowe) Percival died January 19, 2025. A native of Connecticut he received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Pennsylvania and later pursued graduate studies at Cornell University and the London School of Economics. His service in Malaysia as a Peace Corps volunteer awakened his love of travel and interest in world cultures, something he pursued throughout his life.  In 1970 he began a nearly four-decade-long career teaching art and architectural history at Queens College/CUNY, Bard College, New York Institute of Technology, the University of Maryland, and Hunan University, Changsha, China.  He was a member of the Oratorio Society of New York, the Society of Architectural Historians, and served as Vestryman and Warden of St. Luke’s Church in Forest Hills. He also enjoyed skiing and Scottish Country Dancing. He is survived by his wife Marianne (neé Stolp). Visiting hours Friday, January 24, 2025, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., Fox Funeral Home, Forest Hills, N.Y.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Forest Hills, the Oratorio Society of New York, or the University of Pennsylvania.
