Ruth M. Stanton, longtime resident of Forest Hills (Queens) NY, died on June 7, 2025. She was 82 years old. Ruth is survived by her brother, Arthur T. Stanton. She will be buried with her parents Mary and Arthur Stanton, both of Queens NY, in Queens. Ruth never married and had no children. She lived alone in her apartment in Forest Hills, and passed away after a brief stay in a local nursing home.

Ruth was quite close to her brother Arthur, who is two years younger. She was also close to her friend Kathryn Stevenson who now lives abroad. Her church friends included Avril Miller, Irene Balram and Johanna Glaser, who passed away before Ruth did.

Ruth was involved and active in the First Presbyterian Church of Forest Hills NY, where she sang for many years in the choir. Ruth participated in church retreats and community get-togethers. She served on various church committees.

Ruth was quite generous and gave regularly and liberally to many non-profit organizations. Her generosity was in keeping with her simple way of living. Ruth was kind and soft-spoken and had a warm and ready smile for everyone.

Ruth traveled abroad and was well-read. She enjoyed classical music, museums and the arts, which she supported financially. Ruth was a fan of the TV series “Dark Shadows” and collected memorabilia from the show.

Ruth will be remembered by her church, her brother and her neighbors. May she rest in peace and her memory be a blessing.
