Teresa Alba Censoplano (Schipani) 1935-2025

Teresa Censoplano, 90, of Leesburg, Virginia, passed away peacefully at her home on December 22, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 3, 1935, in Calabria, Italy, she was the daughter of Tomasso and Antonia Bonaccio.

Teresa spent her young adult life raised by nuns, where she learned intricate needlework that later was the basis for her illustrious career as a wardrobe/assistant costume designer in the theater and film industry. In 1958 she met and married Isidoro Schipani and moved to America. Subsequent to Isidoro’s passing she married Anthony Censoplano.

Preceded in death by Isidoro Schipani (1978) and Anthony Censoplano (1997), Teresa is survived by her four children, (Rosella, Vance, Philip and Angelique); ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother, a gifted gardener and master chef, and for always welcoming everyone into her home.
