Seda Andrikian Obituary

Seda was a proud and devoted Armenian whose life spanned many countries and cultures. Born in Russia, she moved as an infant with her family to Tabriz, Iran, later to Hamburg, Germany. In the mid-1930s the family relocated to Tehran, Iran to start a successful family business.

Seda went to NY to attend Columbia University, where she earned a degree in mathematics. During that time, she met her future husband, Zaven Andrikian. The couple later lived in Tehran, traveling frequently between Iran and New York, where their two daughters Mona and Nina were born. In 1971, the Andrikian family permanently settled in New York.

Seda spoke several languages besides English, including Armenian, German, and Farsi. She was a devoted mother to Mona and Nina and an active member of the Armenian Apostolic Church Ladies Guild.

Her beloved husband, Zaven, passed away in 1995. Seda is survived by her daughters, Mona and her husband Matthew Schuster, and Nina and her fiancé Michael Chapman; her brothers Levik Sahakian and Edward Sahakian and his wife Greta; and their families.
