Dearest Julia, Denese and Wendy:
We were deeply saddened by the death of our own Frank Ramadar. He was such a wonderful person and we would miss him greatly. We are so sorry and our prayers are with you and the grand-children.
Our cherished memories of Frankie, etched indelibly in our minds and hearts from our yearly visits, are that he was a warm, generous and caring person who would go out of his way to make us feel comfortable. This we believe was born from his life so well lived with an unmatched quality of love.
We observed Frank’s enduring love for his wife Julia, daughters Denese and Wendy. It was this power of love that Frank had which gave him such great joy and justifiable pride to talk about and celebrate your many achievements.
His amazing love for his grandchildren –Gabrielle, Nicholas, Jenny and Christopher – and son-in-law Gary Singh was indescribable and something to behold. The grand children were very dear and very close, only a cellphone call away.
Frank’s love also extended to Julia’s family – especially Shirley, Wayne, Clyde and Kenrick Deonarine; and Silma, Steve, Robert, and Stephen Nancoo. He was always there to help. He meant so much to us that he will continue to live in our hearts.
Some of us knew Frank going back to his high school days in 1958. In his youthful days, what impressed us was his love for learning. And we followed this with a sense of admiration for his achievements in higher education.
There was his love for teaching which he did so well at the elementary school, the Teachers’ College and University levels.
Frankie also had a love for community. In Trinidad – the land of his birth – this led to his involvement in the political sphere. The respect he generated in this field was evidenced by the fact that many a political actor from Trinidad sought him out on their visits to New York.
But his love for community also manifested itself in his many pioneering activities in the diaspora community in Queen’s and New York. His lifting up and giving voice to the hopes and aspirations of members of the diaspora community were an inspiration to many.
Frank’s love for writing is one of his many legacies that will live on as his books chronicle how much he has added to everyone he had touched.
Although Frank’s death leaves a heartache no one can fill, his was a life well lived that had a great impact on family, friends and community.
To use the words of St. Paul:
He has fought the good fight,
He has finished the race,
He has kept the faith.
Henceforth, there is laid up a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give him on that day.
Our love, thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Aunty Julia, Denese, Wendy and family
Sending our love and condolences.
Uncle, You were Truly Special and you will be missed! May our sweet memories comfort us all. Even though you were miles away and haven’t been in touch often .... your were in our heart, prayers and thoughts!
Thank you for being inspirational! Will remember you as always looking handsome and charming, playing cricket on the beach in Moruga, eating trini food, my visit to NY in 1991, our letters and conversations about education, your interest in our East Indian heritage and your book on race relations, your love for your sisters and brothers .... and of course your love for dancing! My last memory is dancing in Tobago at my wedding and you taking the risks to be there and celebrate with Jamie and me! Thank you! May you dance with the angels in heaven! Sharel, Love you loads x
Our Uncle
Author Unknown (modified)
It broke our hearts to lose you,
but you never went alone,
for a part of us went with you,
the day God took you home.
A million times we missed you,
A million times we cried,
If love could have saved you,
you never would have died.
To the grave you travel,
Our flowers placed with care,
No-one knows the heartache,
as we turn to leave you there.
If tears could build a stairway,
and memories could make a lane,
we would walk right up to heaven,
and bring you home again.
We love you uncle,
sleep well in heaven with the angels.
