Philip William Tobin
Philip William Tobin, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and retired NYPD lieutenant, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2025, at the age of 87. Born in Ireland on February 8, 1937, Philip immigrated to the United States in 1957, where he built a life filled with love, service, and dedication.
Philip proudly served the New York City community as a member of the NYPD, rising through the ranks to achieve the rank of lieutenant before his retirement. His commitment to protecting and serving his city was a testament to his strong character and unwavering sense of duty.
Beyond his professional life, Philip was a devoted family man. He leaves behind his loving wife, Judy, and his six children: Kerry Peluso, Phil Tobin, Ralph Tobin, Michael Tobin, Dan Tobin, and Charles Larkin. He also leaves behind ten grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Philip cherished his family above all else and created countless memories with them through the years.
Considerate and supportive to all who knew him, Philip was a true gentleman who touched the lives of many. In his earlier years, he enjoyed the thrill of sports cars. He also found peace and joy in fishing, a pastime he continued to enjoy throughout his life.
Philip will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. His memory will live on through the countless lives he touched with his kindness, strength, and unwavering love.
