I was fortunate to have had Mrs. Fabricante as my favorite math teacher at Russell Sage (JHS 190). She advised my family that I should take a test to attend Stuyvesant HS, a school that we did not know existed. I passed the exam, and upon my first day I was called to the Principal's office. I reported to the office concerned about what could I possible have done wrong, and was delighted to find a warm gentleman who introduced himself as Mrs. Fabricante's husband and my new principal. I don't know what I had done right by then, but I was blessed to have had two great educators who fostered my quest for knowledge, cared so much for their students and continued to give back in so many ways. Mr. Fabricante - Thank you so much for all that you've done and wish you a peaceful slumber in the arms of God. For the rest of his family and friends, I wish you strength and the comfort of knowing that he was respected and loved by his Stuy family and now alumni.
