I send my condolences to the family of Jim Norton. Over the past 6 or 7 years in Long Beach, Jim became my friend. We met while feeding the stray cats nearby. Jim had a good heart and provided food for the 10 to 12 stray cats who lived near his building. He even fed the large flocks of pigeons and seagulls, who learned to fly to his window sill or wait in the parking lot below.
Whenever Jim heard of a charity or animal rescue, he wanted to send a donation. He had a cheerful spirit, a great sense of humor, and strong religious faith. I will miss him -- and so will the cats and birds. I am offering prayers for Jim and his family.
