Josephine M. (Wackerman) Clancy passed away on October 1, 2014. Born in Brooklyn, NY she was a beloved daughter of Anne & John Wackerman. She attended St. Nicholas Elementary School and Bishop McDonnel High School, both in Brooklyn. She graduated from St. Catherine’s School of Nursing with a bachelor’s degree, also of Brooklyn, where she then worked as a Nursing Supervisor. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Donald E. Clancy of Forest Hills, NY. She is also survived by her daughter Mary Jo E. Clancy and her husband Paul Jones of Westfield, MA and her two grandchildren, Ryan and Logan. She is also survived by her sisters; Doris Hammer, Regina Genova, Clare Mansfield and her brother Donald Wackerman, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by 8 siblings; Anna, Henry, Mary, Joseph, Richard, Magdalen, John and Margaret. She was a long-time, active member of both the West Side Tennis Club and the Women’s Club of Forest Hills. She was an avid reader who also enjoyed the New York Times crossword puzzles and loved to watch the New York Yankees. She was a long-time communicant of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church. Calling hours will be on Sunday October 5, 2014 at Fox Funeral Home, 98-07 Ascan Avenue, Forest Hills, NY from 2pm-5pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday October 6, 2014 at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, 110-06 Queens Blvd, Forest Hills, NY at 10:30am.
