Obituary of Catherine Marchese

Mrs. Catherine (Melnyk) Marchese, born on October 25, 1924 in Colver, Pennsylvania, passed away at age 93 on October 22, 2018 in Forest Hills, New York. Catherine was the loving wife of Mark. She was preceded in death by her parents Elias and Tatianna and brothers, Charles, Peter, and George; and sisters, Mary and Helen. Catherine is survived by her brothers, Michael, John, and Steve. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews and loved to attend all their events, celebrating births to Communions to marriages, showers and barbecues. The family invites donations in Catherine's name to Smile Train. Friends and family are welcome to attend the funeral service on Thursday, October 25 at 1:00 p.m. at Saint Francis Chapel At Gate Of Heaven Cemetery, 10 West Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne, New York, 10532.

Catherine worked hard her whole life, coming to New York as a young woman from modest beginnings and had a successful career working on fast-paced Wall Street.  Catherine  was generous and loved history.  She and Mark traveled the world, but they never forget to help those in need due to her faith and respect for humanity.
