Born May 1, 1935
Died April 4, 2021
Franyie was born on May 1st, 1935 in Salcedo, Dominican Republic to a large family.
She passed away from complications due to Multiple Myeloma. (Cancer of the blood)
She is survived by one sister; Many nieces and nephews; Three children, Valerie, Michael and Keith;
And four grandchildren, Cortney, Tony, Noah and Lucas.
Franyie moved to the United States in the early 1950's with many of her sisters and brothers,
married and had 3 children.
Franyie raised her 3 children as a single parent, after getting a divorce.
She lived for more than 60 years in Rego Park.
She worked well into her early 70's and then watched after her 2 youngest grandchildren for many years.
Franyie was diagnosed with cancer in 2017.
The cancer treatments, while keeping the cancer at bay, became a hardship for her to endure.
After choosing to end the treatments, so as to enjoy her remaining time, the illness finally got the better of her on Easter Sunday.
She will be missed for her kindness and love.
She became famous in our family for her flan, which now has become part of our family lore.
A dessert that everyone loves and looks forward to each holiday, but she, ironically, never enjoyed it herself...
Rest in peace Franyie, we love you.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
