Obituary of Marion Grace McGovern

Marion Grace (Delaney) McGovern, of Forest Hills, passed away on August 27, 2021. Marion was born on August 23, 1929 to Wilbert and Minnie Delaney in Parrsboro, Nova Scotia. She traveled from Nova Scotia to Montreal where she joined the Royal Canadian Air Force reserves during the Korean War. Marion moved to New York City in 1960 and moved to The Kennedy House in 1965 and lived there for the rest of her life, 56 years. Marion was the wife of the late Charles McGovern. She was predeceased by her brother, Victor Delaney, and her beloved sister in law Terry McGovern. She will be sadly missed by her brother, Stuart Delaney and wife Margie, of Avon, MA ;her niece Linda Snyder, husband Todd, and their children Caroline and Luke of NH; her niece Katie Quilitzsch and her children Molly and Matt of MA; her nephew Patrick Delaney, wife Kilvia, and their children Sophia and Max of NC; her nephew Kevin Delaney, and daughter Christina of MA. Marion also leaves her many beloved lifelong friends in New York whom she cherished and spoke of so often of we considered them her New York family. Marion was loved by all. Those who were fortunate enough to call her sister, aunt, or friend were blessed to have her loyalty, her love, and her wonderful laughter. Family and friends were the recipients of her kindness and giving spirit, always reaching out to help someone in need. Her independence and strength were an inspiration to all. Marion left her beautiful footprint of love and laughter on all of us and will not be forgotten
