Obituary of Helena Ureta Conti

On Monday 13, December 2021, Helena Ureta Conti, loving sister, mother of 3, and grandmother of 6 passed away at the age of 79. 

Helena was born on 1 November 1942 in Montevideo, Uruguay and moved to the United States as a child becoming an American citizen in the 1980s.  She earned her bachelor’s degree from Laval University in Canada, a Masters degree from Adelphi University and ten different teaching licenses for the State of NY.  She taught elementary school mathematics and was an assistant principal for elementary, middle and high school for over 20 years before retiring.  She was married to Joseph Anthony Conti and they raised 3 children Joseph, Christine and Patrick. 

Helena loved art, music and romance novels.  She was known for her kind spirit, humbleness and generosity to everyone she met.  Her death was preceded by her father Horatio Francisco Ureta and mother Helena Susan Arbeleche Ferrari.  Funeral Services will be held on 23 December 2021, at Our Lady of Mercy Church on 70-01 Kessel Street Forest Hills, NY 11375 at 10 AM.  Flowers or donations can be sent to Fox’s Funeral Home at 98-07 Ascan Avenue, Forest Hills, NY 11375.
