Obituary of Jutta G Cameron

On September 30, 2022, Jutta Cameron, loving wife and mother, passed away at the age of 90. 

Jutta Cameron was born in 1932 in Hamburg, Germany, to Richard and Jenny Gottheil. In 1953 she emigrated to New York City, NY, where she met and married Donald Cameron, a marriage that lasted 67 years. 

As an adult she fulfilled her lifelong dream of a college education, and at age 61 graduated from City University of New York/Queens College with a bachelor’s degree. 

Jutta was a keenly intelligent person who loved to read, enjoyed modern art and music, and had a sparkling sense of humor. She was also a person of deep faith who’s love of God was evidenced by the interest and concern she showed in the lives of everyone who crossed her path. She made people feel seen and heard. 

Jutta is survived by her husband Donald, her daughter Janet (Mark LaFlaur, son-in-law), her sons Andrew and David (Roberta Cameron, daughter-in-law), and her grandchildren Mitchell, Helena, and Wesley. 

In lieu of flowers, gifts in her name can be made to the Bowery Mission and to Habitat for Humanity.
