Obituary of Patricia Ann Tully
Please share a memory of Patricia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Patricia Ann Irene Lane Tully, 80 years old, of Brooklyn, New York, passed away on Divine Mercy Sunday, April 12, 2015, in Houston, Texas.
Pat was born in Brooklyn, New York, to Miriam M. Lane and James Lane on June 04, 1934. She went to Stella Maris Catholic High School for Girls and graduated in 1952. She went on to earn a degree in Sociology from Hunter College in 1956. She worked as a first grade teacher for the City of New York at P.S. 31. Patricia was married to Brendan James Tully for 20 years and was blessed with a family of 5 children. Pat enjoyed the simple comings and goings of the many family and friends she adored. She shared a special bond of closeness with her sisters. Pat was a social person and is remembered by many as a beautiful spirit, or to others as someone who likely would put a lamp shade on her head.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Miriam M Lane and James Lane.
Pat is survived by her two sisters, Miriam Richardson and Veronica Harvey; her cousin Joan Burke, and many, many loved cousins, nieces and nephews. She is survived by her children, their spouses and 10 grandchildren: son Paul and wife Julie and their three children Anna, Erin, and Patrick; son David and wife Maité and their sons Timothy and Nathan; son Ken and wife Bonnie and their sons Liam and Finn; daughter Patricia; her son Brian and wife Katherine and their three boys Cormac, Henry and Reagan.
Pat’s family wishes to extend their gratitude to her friend Rae Grayson. Rae was a shelter from the storm in Pat’s later years as she battled with breast cancer for 12 years. Rae offered Pat true friendship and love, guidance and acceptance, support and encouragement. Like another sister, Rae shared good times and bad with Pat till the very end.
Pat’s family thanks you for your acts of kindness and support. Memorial donations in honor of Pat may be made to Rehabilitation Services Volunteer Project (RSVP) at www.RSVPTexas.org.
