Oldenburg, Irmgard M.
93 – passed away after a long struggle with declining health on December 29, 2022. She is survived by her only child, Tatiana F. Oldenburg. Born in Berlin, Germany on January 6, 1929, she suffered along with her parents and brother and sister through the horrors of WWII. In 1961, she left her homeland and family behind to come with my father, her fiancé at that time, to the United States as refugees under political asylum. In 1994, she became a naturalized U.S. citizen. Despite facing much adversity, she was always full of life and hope for a better tomorrow. She loved animals and nature. Even into her late age, she always had a keen interest in everything around her. But most of all, she was a wonderful mother, my best friend, and a beautiful person inside and out. She will forever be loved and missed. May you rest in peace, mom.
