Rosalina Palisoc de Leon

April 20, 1933 - August 19, 2023

Rosalina Palisoc de Leon, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully passed away on August 19th at the

age of 90.

She was born on April 20th, 1933, in Manila, Philippines, to Adela Jose and Dionisio Palisoc.  Following World War II, Rosalina and Cesar's journeys intersected during their youth, leading them to embark on a shared life filled with love and happiness. Together, they welcomed five sons: Gerardo (Gerry), Pascual (Al), Cesar Jr. (Jun), Bernardito (Tito), and Exequiel (Ike).

Rosalina's distinguished career included serving as the Department Head of Science Studies at Villamor High School. Her dedication and passion for education illuminated the path for numerous students to follow their aspirations in the field of science. She left an indelible mark on the academic community, garnering fond remembrance from her colleagues and students alike.

Her musical talent flourished from a young age, initially with the piano and later extending to the organ.  She would often fill the household with classical melodies and tunes from "The Sound of Music.” Sharing music with loved ones was a legacy she bequeathed across generations to her descendants, some of whom continue to play music in church and have become professional musicians.

Rosalina was a devout Catholic with a special devotion to Our Lady of Perpetual Help.  In addition, she was a steadfast organist during evening masses at St. Andrews in Paranaque.

In their final years, Rosalina and Cesar relocated to the United States.  They were granted citizenship due to Cesar's courageous service in World War II, where he served as a courier for both the Philippines and the US. They spent the majority of their time staying with family in New York City and Maryland, eventually making Queens, New York their permanent home.

Rosalina is survived by her two sons, Jun and Tito, her daughters-in-law, twelve adoring grandchildren, and three cherished great-grandchildren. Her family brought boundless joy and happiness to her life. Their laughter and affection provided her with strength and purpose, and her memory will forever resonate in their hearts. She possessed an innate hospitality, treating guests and friends as family, ensuring they were well cared for and always felt at home.

A viewing service will be held on 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm Friday, August 25, 2023 at Fox Funeral Home, followed by a memorial mass service to honor and celebrate Rosalina's life on 9:30 am Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Our Lady Queen Of Martyrs Church.
