In Loving Memory of Mangala Wijerathna

Mangala Wijerathna, born on February 24, 1964, in Sri Lanka, passed away unexpectedly on October 30, 2023, in New York. He is survived by his wife, Nilmini Wijerathna, and their two children, Petrin and Jehan. Mangala also has seven siblings and his loving mother, Karuna K.D.K Wijerathna. 

Mangala was a devoted husband and a loving father who held his family close to his heart. His unexpected passing has left a void in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be remembered for his dedication to family and his kindness towards others. 

Mangala was not only a loving family man but also a talented artist. His artwork was a reflection of his creative spirit and brought joy and inspiration to those who had the privilege of experiencing it. His artistic talents added a unique and beautiful dimension to his life, leaving a lasting legacy of his creative soul.

Mangala’s life journey took him from Sri Lanka to the Middle East and eventually to New York. Along the way, he made lasting friendships and contributed to each community he called home. 

May he rest in peace, knowing he was deeply loved and will be remembered always.
