Obituary of Gloria Y. Scapp

Gloria Y. Scapp was born on February 5, 1926 in Brooklyn, NY to Michael Cosidente and Julia Fabrizio Cosidente. She was joined 2 years later by James Cosidente. She lived a simple but happy life with her family, brother and many aunts. When Gloria finished high school she began working in the retail industry first as a buyer and then in sales. Gloria was a wonderful dancer and frequently went to dances at local dance halls. In 1947 she met Joseph Scapp, also an avid dancer, at a dance. They were married April 25, 1948 and moved to Jackson Heights, Queens. Together they had three children, Mark, Ron and Patricia. Gloria cherished her family more than anything. She could always be found cooking and cleaning and taking care of the children. She would carry on an Italian tradition of having large Sunday family meals. She would prepare all week for this one gathering. Throughout the years her three granddaughters were born. They were truly her shining glory. She cared for, worried about and fawned over the girls constantly. Gloria was blessed to have many friends who she remained close with throughout her life. She has lived a full and happy life. She is survived by her three children Mark, Ron and Patricia Solaimanian and their spouses, three granddaughters, Elizabeth and Claudia Solaimanian, and Julia Scapp.
