John was a few years younger than me, a fellow Holy Cross Knight, cousin of good friend, Gerry Galvin!
John was a handsome, fun loving kid, and a real ball buster, but always in a good-hearted way!
Very sorry to hear of his passing, my thoughts, prayers and sincere condolences are being sent your way!!
May He Rest in the embrace of our Lord.
Til we meet again my friend!!

Just heard about John whom I knew from the neighborhood since he was a kid. He also put a back porch on our house, which I was very happy with. He did excellent work and was fun to have around. Great guy, great sense of humor. Saw him a few months ago out on his bike, he looked great as always and we had a nice visit. Shocked at the news, he was too young. Sincere condolences to the Garrett family from all the Milazzo's. Sorry we didn't know about his passing until after the memorial services.

Dearest Garrett Family,
We are so sorry we are unable to be there for you during this difficult time. We always looked at Point Lookout as a collection of great families full of great characters. The Garretts and good ole John certainly check off both of those boxes. To say John was one of a kind would not due him justice. I think only John could come up with the words to describe who John was. For us he was the guy you hoped was about to walk into the room. He will be missed but never forgotten.
In keeping with the PTL theme, we are sending a donation to LI Toy Lending Center in John's name. That way he will continue to put smiles on people's faces.
Your Friends,
Shannon & James

Our Sincerest Condolences to The Garrett Family,
It's so unfair that death should have the power to take away our loved ones. The help that God supplies does make a difference. "God is near to those that are brokenhearted..."(Psalm 34:18)
Pour your heart out to Him.
At 1 Corinthians 15:26 it says, "Our enemy, death, will be abolished..."
And at John 5:28,29, Jesus said, "all those in the Memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out..."
We hope these wonderful promises from God bring you a measure of comfort.

My sincere condolences to the entire Garrett family. John- An absolute and unabashed original, never striking a false chord. Your spirited laugh and unconventional wit were a pleasure to be around. You can now enjoy the Knicks from an overhead seat. Try to put in a good word. You will be missed, brother.

I was so sorry to hear this wonderful, larger than life man has left this world. I could tell a million great stories about how he touched my life. Mike you and your sisters are in my thoughts. God Speed to Johnny G. (Don't know if you remember me Mike but it's Carrie, I worked at Keegans and then Scruffys for a bit back in the day) I considered John a wonderful friend and kept our friendship close until I moved out of ny. Thoughts, prayers and blessings. He certainly was loved by many.
